Eye–Hand Coordination
How accurately the hands respond to visual information and reach a target.
Sport is more than physical ability. Every movement begins with visual information, perception and a decision. Reflexion Edge brings visual and cognitive training into an interactive, measurable training environment.
EXPLORE THE TECHNOLOGY ↓Reflexion Edge is a portable, six-panel touchscreen training system. Its illuminated targets create interactive tasks that challenge athletes to see, process information and respond.
The system records performance data from the drills, allowing training sessions to be reviewed and progress to be monitored over time.
Hardware specifications are based on Reflexion's published Edge product information.
Reflexion's published Reflexion Score framework describes five cognitive dimensions. Each represents a different part of how athletes process information and respond during performance.
How accurately the hands respond to visual information and reach a target.
The ability to suppress an inappropriate response and avoid reacting to distractions.
Identifying which information or target deserves attention first when several demands compete.
The time between a stimulus appearing and the initiation of a response.
Following changing visual targets and coordinating a response as their position or speed changes.
These five dimensions are from Reflexion's published Reflexion Score 2021 framework. The exact drills and metrics available depend on the software assessment being used.
A cognitive profile can reveal different strengths and areas that may deserve further attention. A spider graph makes the relationship between several performance dimensions easier to see.
Explore the example profile. Move the sliders to see how changing one dimension changes the shape of the graph.
Illustrative values only. This is not a live Reflexion Edge result, an athlete assessment or a validated score.
The value is not simply in completing drills. It is in understanding what the results show and using that information to guide the next stage of training.
Establish a performance profile through selected visual and cognitive tasks.
Review strengths, differences and potential areas for development.
Build structured training around the athlete's needs and sporting demands.
Repeat selected assessments and compare results over time.
In sport, athletes must constantly detect relevant information, anticipate what may happen next, make decisions and organise their movement in time.
At CogniVision Motion Lab, Reflexion Edge can form part of a broader approach combining sports vision, cognitive training and movement performance.
